Rooms

Yes, as the roomtype suggests our (Deluxe) Small Single Rooms and (Deluxe) Small Double Rooms are, indeed, Small and might just be the coziest rooms you have stayed in.

Sizes

Our Deluxe Small Single Rooms and Small Single Rooms are 8 square meters with a single bed (90cm x 200cm)Our Deluxe Small Double Rooms and Small Double Rooms are 12 square meters with a small double bed (140cm x 200cm). These rooms are perfect for your holiday when you're planning to explore Amsterdam!

If you prefer a more spacious room and a bigger bed, we would like to suggest our Comfort Double Room or Deluxe Comfort Double Room. These roomtypes have a roomsurface of 18 square meters, with a kingsize bed (180cm x 200cm) and are more spacious than our (Deluxe) Small Single Room and (Deluxe) Small Double Room. Therefore, our Comfort Double Room and Deluxe Comfort Double Room are obviously the best choice for guests who wish a bit more comfort and for longer stays!

Unfortunately air conditioning units cannot be installed in the rooms due to the building's status as a monumental or historic structure.

No, our rooms are not equipped with a fridge/mini bar.We can however store all your items in our hotel fridge for the duration of your stay!  

No, our hotel does not have rooms located in a basement.

Our hotel has 3 different bedtypes:

Single Beds: 90cm x 200cm (max. 1 person)

Double Bed: 140cm x 200cm (max. 2 persons)

Kingsize Double Bed: 180cm x 200cm (max. 2 persons)

It is only possible* to place an extra bed in our Family Rooms. The costs of an extra bed are €40,- per night.

* Only one extra bed per Family Room is possible. Please contact us directly for availability and to reserve an extra bed for your stay at: info@hotelaalders.nl, prior to your arrival  

A baby cot is possible* in the following rooms: (Deluxe) Comfort Double Room, Triple Room and Family Room. The costs for a baby cot are €7,50 per night.

It is not possible to place a baby cot in our (Deluxe) Small Single Room or (Deluxe) Small Double Room, however children up to 2 years of age can sleep in the excisting beds for free!

Our hotel is situated in a monumental buidling from 1903, it is therefore unfortunately not possible to ensure accessability for disabled guests due to the narrow coridors and small rooms.This also applies for (baby)strollers, walkers and similar resources.  

Arrival & Departure

Our check-in time is from 15:00. (3 PM).

The reception is open 24 hours and 7 days a week so you can check in anytime after the check-in time. However, if you arrive after 07:00 (7 AM) the next morning,  please let us know.

As a small and bustling family hotel with 33 rooms, we regret that we cannot guarantee early check-in. However, we are always happy to store your luggage until your room is ready.  

Our check-out time is before 11:00 (11 AM).

As a small and bustling family hotel with 33 rooms, we regret that a late check-out is not possible. However, we can always store your luggage for the entire day, allowing you to explore Amsterdam on your last day!  

We are happy to store your luggage after check-out or for early arrivals.

In case you have reserved the Flexible Rate, the payment is done at arrival.

When you have booked our Non Refundable Rate, your creditcard will be charged when you make the booking for the total roomrate, including the 12,5% citytax.

We accept the following methods of payment:

  • CashPlease note that we are unable to accept paper bills of €200,- and €500,-

You pay city tax in Amsterdam when you stay in a hotel but are not a resident of the municipality.

In Amsterdam, the citytax is 12,5% of your roomrate.

This amount will be added to your total invoice.

About our Hotel

Yes, we offer free WiFi for all our guests!

Yes, our lift reaches all floors and rooms. You won’t have to make use of any stairs if you make use of our lift.

The hotel does not have private parking. In the Museum District you have to pay from Monday through Saturday from 09:00 to 24:00 hours and on Sundays between 12:00 and 24:00 hours.  Costs ; 1 hour €6,- or 24 hours €54,-.

Tickets can be purchased in the grey machines (with a blue box on top with white letter 'P') which can be found on the streets.

Breakfast is served daily from 07:00 AM till 10:00 AM in our authentic breakfast room, located on the first floor of our hotel. The breakfast consists of a selection of buffet items, including: 3 types of cheeses, several meats, scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, croissants, pastries and many other tasty items to start your perfect day! For €17,50 per person you can enjoy our lovely breakfast. Children up to 2 years are free.

In September 1955 Jelle Aalders opened the doors of our warm & unique hotel in a residential home build in 1903.Knowing that the Museum Quarter was one of the most beautiful area’s in Amsterdam, he decided it was the best place to welcome guests from all over the world for the most memorable stay in our lovely and vibrant city. 64 years later, the hotel is still run by the third and fourth generation to set forth his legacy. Read more about our rich history.

We are happy to let you know that Hotel Aalders is located in a quiet residential street in the heart of the Museum District. 

We kindly ask you to keep in mind that our hotel is situated in a monumental building from 1902, which means it is not as isolated and soundproofed as modern buildings are these days.

Due to being a monumental- and former residential building, our hotel has a lot of unique nooks and crannies. This may includes: elevated bathrooms, raised step(s) and narrow corridors.All our rooms are all unique in sizes and measurements.  

No, pets are not allowed in the hotel.

Hotel Aalders is completely Non-Smoking.
