When was the hotel founded?

In September 1955 Jelle Aalders opened the doors of our warm & unique hotel in a residential home build in 1903.
Knowing that the Museum Quarter was one of the most beautiful area’s in Amsterdam, he decided it was the best place to welcome guests from all over the world for the most memorable stay in our lovely and vibrant city. 64 years later, the hotel is still run by the third and fourth generation to set forth his legacy. Does the hotel have a lift?

Yes, our lift reaches all floors and rooms. You won’t have to make use of any stairs if you make use of our lift.

Does the hotel have WiFi?

Yes, we offer free WiFi for all our guests!

Can i store my luggage at the hotel?

Yes, we would love to store your luggage for you when you have checked out or when you arrive before our check-in time.

What time is check-in?

Our check-in time is from 14:00 hours.
The reception is open 24 hours / 7 days a week so you can check in anytime when you arrive after the check-in time. However, if you arrive after 07:00 hours the next morning,  please let us know.

As we are a small and busy family hotel, with 33 rooms.
We can never guarantee an early check-in, however we are always able to store your luggage until your room is ready.
 

What time is check-out?

Our check-out time is before 11:00 hours.
As we are a small and busy family hotel with 33 rooms, a late check out is not possible.
We can however always store your luggage for the entire day so you can explore Amsterdam during your last day!

When do I need to pay for the accommodation?

When you have booked our Best Available Rate, you pay when you checkout.

When you have booked our Non Refundable Rate, your creditcard will be charged when you make the booking for the total roomrate, excluding the 7% citytax. The payment for the citytax will be done at checkout.

Do you have rooms located in a basement?

No, our hotel does not have rooms located in a basement.

Are the Small Single Room and Small Double Room, small?

Yes.

As the roomtype suggests our Small Single Rooms and Small Double Rooms are, indeed, Small and might just be the coziest rooms you have stayed on.
The roomsurface of our Small Single Rooms are 8 square meters and our Small Double Rooms are 12 square meters. These rooms are perfect for your holiday when you're planning to explore Amsterdam!

If you prefer a more spacious room, we would like to suggest our Comfort Double Room. This roomtype has a roomsurface of 18 square meters and is more spacious than our Small Single Room and Small Double Room. Therefor, our Comfort Twin Room/Comfort Double Room is obviously the best choice for longer stays!

Do the rooms have Airconditioning?

No.

Unfortunately it is not possible for us to place airconditioning units in our rooms, as the hotel is situated in a monumental building, which only allows minimal, if any, alterations to the building itself by Dutch Law.

Do the rooms have a fridge/mini bar?

No, our rooms are not equipped with a fridge/mini bar.
We can however store all our items in our hotel fridge for the duration of your stay!

What kind of beds do the rooms have?

Our hotel has 3 different bedtypes:

Single Beds: 90cm x 200cm (max. 1 person)
Double Bed: 140cm x 200cm (max. 2 persons)
Kingsize Double Bed: 180cm x 200cm (max. 2 persons)

Our roomtypes have the following number of beds:

Small Single Room          1x Single Bed
Small Double Room        1x Double Bed
Comfort Double Room    1x Kingsize Double Bed
Triple Room                      1x Kingsize Double Bed & 1x Single Bed
Family Room                     2x Double Bed

Is it possible to prepare an extra bed in the room?

It is only possible* to place an extra bed in our Family Rooms. The costs of an extra bed are €40,- per night.

Is it possible to prepare a baby cot in the room?

A baby cot is possible* in the following rooms: Comfort Double Room, Triple Room and Family Room. The costs for a baby cot are €7,50 per night.
It is not possible to place a baby cot in our Small Single Room or Small Double Room, however children up to 2 years of age can sleep in the excisting beds for free!

What time is breakfast served?

Breakfast is served daily from 07:00 till 10:00 in our authentic breakfast room, located on the first floor of our hotel. The breakfast consists of a selection of buffet items, including: 3 types of cheeses, several meats, scrambled eggs, sausages, crispy bacon, croissants, pastries and many other tasty items to start your perfect day! For €12,50 per person you can enjoy our lovely breakfast.

Are pets allowed in the hotel?

No, pets are not allowed in the hotel.

Does the hotel have rooms for disabled guests?

Unfortunately Hotel Aalders does not have rooms for disabled guests.

What is the smoking policy of Hotel Aalders?

Hotel Aalders is completely Non-Smoking.
